About us

We have lived in Hamburg for many years. One of the most interesting parts of our work as tax consultants was the intensive contact with people. When we discovered our passion for photography in the middle of our lives, it was clear that people should be at the center of our photographic work. So we set off with our cameras to discover new worlds.

At the end of the 90s, we started working on a series about religious festivals in Poland. This led to our photo essay about „Grabarka“ - a place full of spirituality and living tradition.

In 2001-2007, we lived for several months at the Danish Cultural Institute in Damascus. There we were fascinated by the community of day laborers living on the margins of Syrian society. The photo documentation „Warten und arbeiten“ was created.

We shared from 2003 to 2006 the everyday life of the coal collectors in Nikiszowiec/Poland („Schwarze Hände“).

From 2006 to 2008, we spent several months in a Swiss monastery in northern Albania. The nuns enabled us to make contact with the population. People who lived in a psychiatric clinic in Shkodra, but also the worlds of the mountain dwellers and the Roma were shown in our works.

In later years, we turned to street photography. The street as a stage, fascinating encounters with people in their urban environment. Strolling, looking and being patiently prepared for the unexpected.

2012-2017 we worked on a long-term project about the economic and existential crisis in Athens
(„Athena crying“).

In Israel, between 2017 and 2019, we focused on people from different ethnic, social and religious backgrounds.

Since 2022 to 2025 we have been trying to find images in Naples that reflect life in this wonderful, exciting city.

Our images are intended to pose questions and touch the viewer emotionally.
